Oh My, Oh My!

I can not believe that it has already been 5 months! Matthias is doing so well, and has changed SO much already. It's hard to believe he was ever this small! Now, at 5 months he is pretty much half my size and is literally double his birth weight!

We have been so busy! I think we are finally used to David's schedule. It looks like this:
Monday- Intro to Philosophy 9-950; Lifetime Fitness 11-1150; Christianity and Western Culture (CWC) II 12-1250; Hermeneutics 1-350
Tuesday- Marriage and Family Systems 830-945; Chapel 10-11; Theologians Craft 11-1215; Symbolic Logic 215-3; Practical Christian Ministry 3-530 (I will explain)
Wednesday- Intro to Philosophy 9-950; Chapel 10-11; Lifetime Fitness 11-1150; CWC II 12-1250
Thursday- Marriage and Family Systems 830-945; Chapel 10-11; Theologians Craft 11-1215; Symbolic Logic 215-345
Friday- Intro to Philosophy 9-950; CWC II 12-1250

So as you can see his school schedule isn't too bad, and Monday and Tuesdays are his biggest days. He just started his PCM last night! He is in a group of one other guy and two girls that go to a Chinese school in China Town to help with after school care. He says that he will probably work with kids anywhere from preschool age to sixth grade. Yesterday he helped out the preschool age kids and said that it was a good experience (haha). He said there was mostly Chinese kids and one hispanic looking girl and an African American looking little boy. When he got there, there was a group of three little girls and this was their conversation with him; one little girl says"Hey, I'm Goselyn. What's your name?"
David-"I'm Mr. David"
girl- "Oh! You have girlfriend?"
David- "I have a wife!"
girl- *gasp* "You marry?!"
David- "No her name is Audrey."
girl- *giggle* "No, you marry."
David- "Oh, yes, I'm married."
She then turns to the other girls and they all giggle.
He said it was so funny! I totally wish I could have gone with him. He said that the little boy mentioned above was sitting next to him when they were sitting in a circle, all cross-legged, and would just fall over into David's lap and bury his head into him. I can't even imagine David's reaction haha! I think this will be a really awesome opportunity for David to grow and become more well-rounded.

   Matthias has been learning so much and is finally rolling over from his belly to his back! He is now mobile, rolling from back to tummy and then to his back again. I can't believe he is growing out of his 9 month clothing already! Here he is modeling an outfit from the Sorensens (the family I nannied for);

I have been getting even more involved with the women here in Jenkins as I continue to go to Student Wives Fellowship and am in a small group that meets every week. It has really been a new experience this time around being in Jenkins, God is showing us around every corner that He is here with us and that we're where He wants us. It is such an awesome feeling.

We tried Chick-Fil-A on Monday night after a really nice walk around the city. Matthias loved it :)

This last weekend we had Haley and Matt over on Saturday night. It was a really good time filled with delicious Giordanos Pizza and Dutch Blitz.

Also this last weekend, on Sunday, Toni came down for a visit and spent the whole day with us :) We ate lunch at Yolk (a great place to get amazing cheeseburgers with a pretzel bun) and then headed back for a great visit in our apartment. It was strange not having the fireplace going in the backround! Then, the weekend before that we had my family over all day on Saturday. It was really good to see them and Matthias thought so too ;) I'm not sure why Josiah didn't end up in the pictures but he was there, really!

Well , that's all for now. I hope everyone has had a great couple of weeks and I will keep working on the surprise and try to post on the blog a little more often than as of late ;)

Our First Full Weekend Here In Chicago!

We have had a blast this weekend spending time together in our new place! Friday's classes were cancelled, all two of them (he has Intro to Philosophy and CWC II), which meant a early start to our first full weekend here in Chicago :)
Matthias had a lot of fun playing in his bouncer while mommy and daddy got ready for the day.

In the afternoon, Matthias had a bath! He has really loved having his own bath tub. =D
Before. . .

During. . .And After! So clean :)

After bathtime, we went to an open house at the RA's apartment! It was really a nice time. I got to chat with the ladies about babies, and David met some guys as well! He even met a guy that had helped animate kids shows such as the backyardigans! How cool is that??? I am so excited for the relationship potential that is here in Jenkins this semester! These are our faces  (full of glee) from when we got home. . .

On Saturday, David worked on his homework and also got in a lot of great playtime with Matthias :)

David tired him out!!!

Sunday was the most exciting day of them all! It is the first day that Matthias has ever sat up unassisted for more than 5 seconds!!! I think David's guitar playing helped ;)

We have had a great weekend. And it's not even over yet! David has Monday off from classes! Love you family! Can't wait for you guys to visit some time very soon I hope!

Thursday. Dun dun duuun!

Goodmorning Chillycago? It was so nice yesterday and now this? Weather just isn't gradual anymore.

David had a great day of classes again! His schedule today is the same as Tuesday. As we travel along in the Lord's Will, He just gives such a great sense of peace and endurance! It is so awesome to be here. Just in case you didn't know, David is changing his major to Theology. It has made him actually enjoy music again! His first class of the day, Marriage and Family Systems, was about the differing types of families. David said it was enlightening!

Matthias and I had hoots and hollers while David was away. I managed to organize Matthias's things like I wanted to! In fact, all the boxed are now unpacked and things are mostly organized! I am pretty excited. Visitors are now most welcome :)

Matthias's wall!

Tonight there was the first Student Wives Fellowship meeting from 5:30pm-8:30pm. I was pretty reluctant to go because at the few I had been to in the past I hadn't been able to really make any friends. And it's always hard to walk into something like that when you don't know a single person there. But! After praying with David that it would be a good and successful night, I felt encouraged and ready to take it on. God is so good! In the elevator on the way down, there was another gal who was heading to fellowship whom I had met when we were here last! All in all I had an enjoyable time. The ladies at the table I sat at were all really nice and friendly, and there was at least one other gal there that I had met previously. Dinner was scrumptious, we had beef stroganoff and veggies, and the speaker who had come spoke on the book of Ruth. It was enlightening as he gave quite a bit of history behind the book. And a mega plus, there were at least three other babies there. I totally should have brought Matthias with me, but he had a good time with daddy.
The verdict? I am very excited to go to SWF next week :)

Tommorrow there is an open house at the RA's apartment. We are going to venture there, and possible to the store for some milk!

Be safe in all the snow! TTFN
